Thanks for visiting us on our website!

Passing on the faith from generation to generation is a biblical mandate (Deut. 4:9-10; 6:4-9). Now how that happens, unfortunately has not been exactly dictated in scripture. What I do know, however, is that within the context of a Korean-American Church, fulfilling that mandate deals with bridging generations and preparing for future generations. That is what NYPC EM is trying to do. We hope to provide a spiritual home for the many 1.5, second and even third generation Korean-American Christians that are out there and also to take up the reins of the Korean American Church (namely, New York Presbyterian Church).

That is our ministry philosophy. It is an effort to learn to think outside of ourselves and to learn to think of the generations before us and after us. It is a philosophy that stretches us out of our comfort zones and points us to consider Christ's body as a whole. This does not, however, mean that we are trying to be a mono-cultural ministry (being as Korean as possible), and it also does not mean that we are trying to be a culture-less ministry (trying to forget that we are Korean as much as possible). Instead the phrase we use to describe NYPC EM is that we aim to be a multi-generational ministry.

So in order to be multi-generational, we maintain our ties with the Korean ministry (KM) of NYPC. That is why we don't have a different name. We are simply NYPC EM, another department/ministry of the greater New York Presbyterian Church. We desire to take part in the responsibilities of the needs of the overall church.

So we invite anyone who has a heart for multi-generational ministry to join us every Sunday at 10am in Bethel Hall for Sunday worship, 12pm in Siloam Hall and Rm 119 for Bible Study, and Midweek Wednesday Worship at 7:30pm in Bethel Hall. And we ask for your prayers that God will continue to bless our minstry and help us to grow in faith and maturity to carry out the work of His kingdom.

in Him,

Rev. Daevid Yoon

EM Pastor of New York Presbyterian Church
